Interview with Joe Matera

JOE MATERA is an Australian singer/songwriter, guitarist and recording artist for European based record labels, W.A.R Productions (Austria) and RVPrecords (The Netherlands). As a 30 + year veteran of countless original and covers outfits, his impressive playing CV includes, being lead guitarist in Australian rock outfit Geisha (2007 – 2010), founding lead guitarist for classic rock band Double Vision (2003 – 2008) and popular local band On The Prowl (1995 – 1999). He has also contributed guitar to a number of various projects and other artist recordings and has also worked with legendary US producer Tom Werman (Motley Crue, Cheap Trick, Poison) and famed Swedish producer Tomas Skogsberg (Entombed, Backyard Babies, The Hellacopters)
His original guitar instrumental compositions have also appeared on various soundtracks including Australian movie Ricky!- The Movie (Nov. 2011) which featured his acoustic instrumental ‘Starry Night’. He has served as lead guitarist in the orchestra for local award winning stage productions of Les Misérables and Chess, and as a seasoned live performer, has shared the stage with some of Australia’s top acts such as Dragon and Taxiride, and as a solo artist, he has supported the likes of Mental As Anything, Brian Cadd, Russell Morris, 1927, Bay City Rollers, Canned Heat, Andrew Strong, Karise Eden (The Voice) and Peter Criss (KISS).
His first official outing as solo artist was the acoustic instrumental ‘Travellin’ West’ in Sept. 2010. In November, 2011 he released ‘Slave To The Fingers’ an all-electric instrumental EP CD via European record label W.A.R Productions.

Born in Varnville South Carolina and grew up in Washington D.C. His mother gave him a small guitar at the age of 8 years old. He taught himself to play at an early age and got professional training later in life. He was the guitar player for the Unifics, The Five Stairsteps, The Fuzz and other artist. Hey there!!! Tigress315Radio has some new music coming from some great independent artist.
MARHID is the combination of the acronym of the artists MAR(Margam) & HID(Hidalgo), the reunion of two great friends, musicians and producers passionate about Contemporary Jazz that destiny has reunited during the pandemic in which they unify and merge his creativity and experience with Guitar and Keyboard instruments respectively.
Coincidentally, MARHID translated into Arabic means “Cradle” and represents the birth of a new musical stage for both artists that begins with the presentation of the first debut single “Sensibility” inspired by the inherent and inherent capacity of any living being to perceive sensations and as responders. to small stimuli or excitements through the power of music.
“Sensibility” debut single preview of his first album scheduled for this year 2021 of this fruitful project in which the media and radio stations around the world already predict a promising future in the Smooth Jazz scene internationally.
